Above is an exercise that shows the change in perspective and composition
by placing the horizon line in constructing a photograph.
Photographs 1 and 2 show the horizon line in the upper 1/3rd of the photograph. The third photograph shows the horizon line in the centre of the composing. Finally it is shown in the lower 1/3rd of the photograph. I prefer the photograph were the horizon is in the middle.I think this is because this enhances the perspective of the boardwalk.

Having reviewed a collection of images which have different horizon levels, I have concluded that the best horizon line is the one that is appropriate for the subject. An example of this is showing the detail of the sunset sky in photograph B in this series of photographs. the balance of this photograph is enhanced by the lower horizon line as it allows the viewer to see more of the main subject , which in this case is the sunset. In photograph c the main sea barrier is the main subject so placing the horizon higher as allowed for more detail to concentrated on the main subject.

LEARNING NOTES/COMMENTS
USE THE HORIZON AS A FEATURE IN LANDSCAPE COMPOSITION, CHANGING THE HORIZON LEVEL ON A SUBJECT CAN HAVE INTERESTING /ALTERNATIVE BALANCE AND ARTISTRY
