WORK FLOW- the sequence of actions required in digital
photography. such as planning shot, data capture, data
processing , data storage and final presentation.

HISTOGRAM CAPTURE-
ensuring that the image is capture inside the
histogram boundaries so there is enough
image capture in dark shadows and
highlights are not blown out. This will
ensure that the photographer can
potentially improve image capture
at processing stage

EDITING
managing a large sequence of images
and identifying and marking those images
that should be taken into photoshop
for processing.

DIGITAL IMAGE QUALITIES

LINEAR CAPTURE
image/light capture onto a digital senor

HIGHLIGHT CLIPPINGS

dealing with highlight burnouts
and the effects of capturing highlights

NOISE

Like film speed digital images
are made up of grains, digital grains
are pixels. Image quality can be effected
by the "noise"/grain levels in the image.

DYNAMIC RANGE

the variance in the levels between the darkest
and brightest areas in the image. This is usually
measured in f stops.

WHITE BALANCE AND COLOUR CONTRAST
ensuring that the image is captured in the correct colour
tones and the recognises the quality/colour of light
based on the overall quality of light hitting the senor.
such as overcast light is very blue so needs to be warmed
up with a red filter.

PROCESSING THE IMAGE

RAW

capturing the image as seen rather than
allowing for in camera re adjustments

MANAGING TONE AND COLOUR
