EVIDENCE OF ACTION

Exercise

produce one photograph in which something has happened.

  • Include in the subject something that has been broken
  • or emptied.
Examples of concepts that depict subjects that can not be
directly shown,. eg used is castles for security
The term "softness"
often advertisers use clouds and feathers to represent the
feeling of soft.

This image was taken for assignment
one to represent the word soft.

Protection

Many companies/industries need to show customers that they are
protected. This could be from the literal sense such as air bags
in cars or in the changing economic world as insurance that
your money is safe in a bank.

a good example of this is the below image
of a data protection service. Padlocks
are a good symbol to use on this subject

Symptoms

There has been alot to recent advert that show the
symptoms of medical conditions. These are not easy to
visually show. The two that have recently been
very good which is the image of a stroke with
a flame igniting insides the victims head.

The second is the British heart foundations showing
a man with a tight belt wrapped around his
chest to represent the intensity of pain experienced
when someone is having a heart attack.

Speed..

Again with the ever changing technology in the world. Showing
speed can represent many things not just the physical speed of
movement but often the processing capability of modern
day technically. Often animals are used to represent
to convey speed, such as cheetahs running to represent
fast or snails for slow.

EVIDENCE IN ACTION

BROKEN

"Abstract ideas and concepts usually need
imaginative treatment in order to be put across
in a single photograph."

I wanted to show the term broken heart..

I had seen many years ago a Sunday food
supplement which was discussing the increasing
obesity issues. It showed a suspended heart with
chocolate running down it and onto the floor.

I was very lucky to find a glass heart in a local
shop and then dripped down some acrylic
paint to represent that the heart was bleeding
which I am using the represent the term
" broken heart". I have processed this image
in photoshop to darken the image and
remove the outline of the mirror that
is below the heart so that I could
capture the blood clearly. I think
this image would be great for a
book cover.
