CURVES-EXERCISE

TAKE FOUR PHOTOGRAPHS USING CURVES TO EMPHASIS MOVEMENT AND DIRECTION

taken on the south bank of the London eye...

the wheel gives the feeling of movement into the clouds.

this street markings gives a draws the eyes in and out of the image, creating a sense of direction

Using Curves as a composition feature

This simple composition is made up of texture and shape. The contrast of the running lines against the curved shape of the circular bolts

A simple still life showing the repetitive curved shape of these forks.

IMPLIED CURVES

This composition of boats moored on banks of the river shows an example of using implied curves in photography. The eye flows from front to back of this image, via the boats. As the boats are moored in a small curve your eye follows that line. The ripples in the foreground also make curved shapes in the water.

LEARNING NOTES/COMMENTS..

REVIEW CURVED SHAPES, LOOK FOR MORE IMPLIED CURVE SHAPES SUCH AS SHADOWS AND LINES.
