FLUORESCENT LIGHTING

Exercise.

Show the effects of taking images with fluorescent tubes

Florescent tubes contain gas that gives of a green colour
hue to the camera. On the kelvin scale they are around
3000k.

Taken with White balance set to tungstenhas made the
hue tones more green/blue as the white balance
is trying to cool the image

Setting the white balance to fluorescent as turned the green tones
into white light, getting rid of any green tones. The camera
compensates by added lots of blue to the tone.

White balance set to auto has retained some of the green
tone but has reduced the overall tone.

Florescent lighting can be used artistically as the colour
can enhance the final compostiton. This simple image
of the escalators has been enhanced by the reflected
green tone of the overhead strip lighting.
