SANTA TECLA
Festival of fire
The festival comes alive in the evening when the Toradones
take to the street and let off a series of firecrackers.
They carry around a series of animal or puppets that
signify elements of the Santa tecla festival.
They fill the mouths with fireworks and set light
to them.
Objective to capture sharp images using Limited lightingg
all images shot hand held at ISO 800.
I used a high ISO so that it allowed me to increase my shutter speed so that I could
capture the images sharp. Exposure was set on the highlights so not to burn
out the brights/whites.
f4.5 1/400 sec
There were some interesting models in the parade. I would have liked to capture
a full red image with people, which would have been great a submission for assignment 3 as
one colour

There were lots of devils running through the streets. I tried to capture the detail, without
loosing the camera in the process
f 4.5 1/80 sec
I love this photo of the small boy mesmerised by the fireworks. I think the image
is enhanced by the grain of the shutter speed mixed with the soft smoky atmosphere

More devils
I am really happy with this shot which is my favourite from this series.
I like the detail that is captured in the background of all the children shielding themselves
from the sparks of the rockets.
I am also pleased with the exposure levels which has captured both detail and shadows
